Obviously I don't stand by Sam telling Jack to imagine Asmodeus in his head in order to use his powers and Jack was right to snap at him for that. It's just that it says something. Very interesting about Sam's own relationship to boundaries that after Jack opens up about something that sounds pretty violating his first recommendation is, Great! Now imagine that happening again! :D

imagine being Azul's closest childhood friend, watching him change throughout the years, and mourning the loss of the boy you once loved. Both of you had been at the bottom of the food chain— there was nothing you could do but watch him change for the better and for worst. There was nothing he could do either except play the cards that were given to him and reforge himself anew to protect himself. You watched as he erased all evidence of his past including you, his greatest weakness of all, because all he could remember was the pain.

You make him weak and soft when he doesn't want to be. You loved him at his weakest moments but he doesn't want to be reminded of what he once was— not even for a moment.

ohhhhh my god idk it's so hard to pick just one plot or scene when you've ended up with SO many 😆 ig i'm just gonna cheat a lil n say i'm really having fun with Robin atm.. like i've never really "built" a character from the bottom up before u kno? (not rlly including legacy sims tbh cos i feel like they don't count lol) but i've always made adults or maybe teens/whatever with their backstory in mind? and now i get to create someone from scratch and live through all these things that'll shape him when he's older, it's super interesting (and a lil bit challenging too tbh! but in a fun way)

yk something I find interesting is how Castiel became "Cas" to the other angels. we know he became Cas so quickly to the boys, but don't angels always call each other their full names? yet, Anna (and I think the ones at the playground) called him Cas

idk it's interesting to me. like, was this them acknowledging that Cas lost his need to serve Heaven and him gaining a sense of humanity?

In the car ride after Kiryu captures Tsuruno in chapter 1, Tsuruno basically immediately figures out that Hanawa is going out of his way to help Kiryu out/is soft on Kiryu and this is just before Hanawa gets kidnapped and Kiryu goes to save him leading to the “I can’t… I could never kill you.” line. 🏳️‍🌈 After Tusruno points out Hanawa’s crush shaped bias Kiryu goes “🤨 what does that mean?” And before Hanawa could cover his ass the car crashes.

Also Tsuruno had this moment in his parking lot fight with Kiryu. Hot damn dude.

when did you first realise you hosted a system?

sometime in 2020 if I remember correctly? had been experiencing very obvious osdd symptoms for YEAAARS but had no idea what it was before meeting some friends who did. learned a bit about it and went okay interesting! and then a few months later went oh fuuuuck.

────⭒ Valen and his dad, Callen, have always had a tumultuous and toxic relationship. It was Callen who taught Valen how to hunt and kill, taught him that foundation for everything Valen would one day excel at. Callen was prideful. knowing that his own kid was being whittled down into a usable tool or weapon for him. In the syndicate, it was normal to begin preparing kids early for becoming members of the gang. There were no other choices and Valen was no exception. Callen wanted him to become an enforcer, perhaps one day the vice president. He had big plans for his son and anything less than perfection wouldn't do.

────⭒ Valen was too good at what Callen was teaching him. Naturally talented and inherently designed for it, Valen was good at combat and hunting/tracking without much effort. By the age of 17, he was already intimidating; cold, angry eyes and always bruised, bloody knuckles. A one-sided sneer that showed off the tip of his fangs. He was a dark, grumpy thundercloud that could easily back it up and Callen was pleased. He was becoming everything that he'd hoped he'd become. Callen didn't realize until it was too late that maybe he shouldn't have taught him everything.

────⭒ It was Callen who got Valen to make his first real kill when he was 15; an older man who owed the syndicate money and didn't want to pay. Valen stayed awake all night, teary-eyed and angry, and it was the first lesson in learning to compartmentalize the things he'd done. They'd go out hunting together; either for someone who upset the syndicate, or owed money, or even just someone who pissed off Callen. He thought it was a bonding experience but Valen surely began to hate Callen for it, even though it taught him usable skills that, again, he was too good at. Callen didn't know it would come back around to him one day. Them hunting together didn't stop them from trying to kill each other.

────⭒ I think that's one of the things Valen still struggles with today; he hates Callen and everything he did to him, but he's forced to admit, at least to himself, that he learnt valuable things from him. Valen learnt self-control and ruthlessness, how to fight and hunt and track. He learnt how to be the scariest person in a room. Things that become useful down the line, but at what cost? I don't think Valen fully knows yet what it cost him. But he learns, slowly, and that iron ball of anger under his ribs gets a little heavier. How does one reconcile between those things? The damage was also a benefit. I'm not so sure that Valen ever truly will reconcile it, not until he believes he's made up for it somehow.
